Note: This post /recap contains minor spoilers throughout and there is 1 major spoiler listed in this post.

EPISODE 3: Wave The White Flag

Frank & Ben continue to trail Mary and follow her to a hospital.....or do they?

Todays client is Irene (Jane Moffet) & we watch her making cocktails with her husband Declan (Michael Ayoub) as she waits for Mary & Des to arrive. Irene has one final thing to say before ending her life:

"There is beauty in the inevitable"

Mary arranges a meet with Ben & they have a little 'chat' about their current prediciment.

Whilst Mary is on duty in ER, a gunshot victim, in police custody, shows up. It's Sid (Joel Thomas Hynes), Gradys henchman, & they recognise each other.

Grady also shows up at ER & there is a wonderful conversation between he & Mary, that  also includes an unscripted hug.

It is a perfect reaction by his character & Greg added it when he was 'in the moment'.

Grady 'requests' that Mary help get Sid away from his police guard & out of the hospital but Mary refuses, leaving an indignant Grady to step up his game.

Marys daughter Jess (Abigail Winter) & her friend Naomi (Katie Douglas) skip school & have lunch in a diner. As they try to pull a  'dine & dash', the owner catches them, so does Grady!

The girls can only look on in confusion as 'Uncle Grady' pays their bill. Is he simply a good Samaritan or is there an ulterior motive?

Mary receives a phone call, & photo of the girls, from Grady. Clearly rattled, she & Des quickly devise a plan to sneak Sid out of the hospital & into Gradys waiting car. An unforseen complication leads to Mary also getting in the car & they drive away.

Once parked, she tries to leave but Grady locks the doors. He then procedes to talk to Sid about what went down. Grady is upset & disappointed. He clearly feels hurt & betrayed. You can see the pain in his eyes ,but there's something terrifying about his quiet calm.

This scene brought back memories of Jeremy -Bitten S3 for me.

By forcing Mary to stay & hear their conversation, Grady has now dragged her into his business....his truths, It's a scary situation, but he does let her go.

**SPOILER WARNING**

As she walks away.......

*SPOILER AHEAD**

**A shot rings out**

Shocked & stunned, Mary returns to the hospital to find police, inc Frank & Ben, making inquiries re: the disappearance. Noting her distress, Ben slips away from Frank & gives Mary his personal phone number...just in case!

Marys world is rapidly crumbling around her and she takes out her anger & frustration on the only person she can talk to about any of it - Des! Things don't go as planned between the two however (amazing work/scene from Caroline & Richard) & she later calls Ben & arranges to meet with him at a motel.....
