Note: This post /recap contains minor spoilers throughout and, as it was already revealed in ep 1 & heavily impacts the rest of the story, there is 1 major spoiler listed in this post.

EPISODE 2 : The River Styx

We begin by meeting Nora & watch as she spends her last day doing things she loves b4 meeting up with Mary & Des and ending her life.

Mary meets with Joel and offers possible, alternative, treatment options but he's not interested and storms out. We know his reasons why, she doesnt.......yet!

Back at the hospital - Yvonne (Lisa Ryder) a patient with end stages ALS  & her teenage son Charlie (Parham Rownaghi) ask Nurse Annie for help. She refers them to Mary & Des.

Joel & Mary meet up again but his behavior & in depth questioning makes her suspicious.

**SPOILER WARNING**

One thing leads to another & Mary finally figures out what we

learned in ep 1.

**SPOILER AHEAD**

**Joel is not a terminally ill patient.......he's an undercover cop, working in partnership with Det. Frank Gaines !! **

A panicked Mary makes her excuses, flees & gets rid of the drugs she had in her possession.

Given this turn of events, Des goes to Yvonne & Charlies house to postpone their appointment, but Charlie is desperate to help his mom & things quickly get out of hand.

Des calls Mary to explain the situation, & since she no longer has the necessary drugs, Mary must now head to the dealers house to buy more. This is uncharted territory for her as Des has always handled that side of things.

Mary introduces herself to Grady, who's sitting & colouring, yes colouring! He calmly asks her to take her shirt off. She's thrown for a moment & there's a bit of a stand off, but she complies & Grady explains he's merely protecting himself- checking for wires & track marks.
Grady also talks about his step niece, who's sleeping over, & places the childs, mouse-ear, headband on Mary's head!
It feels like he's 'toying' with Mary, just as he did with Des in ep 1.  Underneath that quiet, calm demeanor, there's clearly something more sinister at work. An observation that's reinforced as Grady quotes Marys full name & address during their exchange; thus making it obvious that, though they've never actually met before, he knows EXACTLY who she is!
We all know just how well Greg can deliver in those quiet, crazy moments, & though he's barely had a chance to start with Grady, I already find his mannerisms quite disturbing. I can't wait to see what's next! #CrazyIsMoreFun

After securing the drugs from Grady, Mary makes her way to Charlies house and the situation culminates in a heartbreaking, yet beautiful, moment.

Later, an unexpected call from Troys wife, Carly (Natalie Lisinska) and a confrontation with Joel (aka Ben) keep the complications coming for Dr. Mary Harris.

Note:  Dempsey Bryk (Gregs son) makes his screen debut as Tristan in this episode.
